Ski holidays in the Isarco Valley – with snow guarantee
The Isarco Valley is surrounded by several ski mountains, which in the winter turn into a beautiful snowy winter wonderland. Nearby, the ski region Plose offers plenty of skiing fun in white powder snow. The sunny, south facing local mountain of the Pension Auerhof awaits you with breath-taking panoramic views, ranging from the Dolomites all the way to the main alpine ridge. 40 km of perfectly groomed slopes – with 100% snow guarantee – will fascinate all skiers and snowboarders. In addition to easy practice hills and moderate slopes, there are also 8 kilometres of black slopes, including steep drops for ski professionals. The legendary slope “Trametsch” – with 9 km the longest in South Tyrol – requires a certain level of fitness and expertise, because it covers 1,400 altitude meters! Freestylers may romp freely at the Plose Fun Park.
Ideal for families with children: the ski area Gitschberg/Val Giovo
The ski region Gitschberg/Val Giovo provides an additional 44 kilometres of slopes and is only a stone’s throw away. The two ski resorts Gitschberg and Val Giovo are connected via a panorama cable car and are particularly popular with families. With excellent ski schools and three kids’ parks – offering full-time day care – the ski region Gitschberg/Val Giovo is one of the most child-friendly ski resorts in the country. Breath-taking views on more than 500 alpine peaks await you on the panoramic platforms on Mount Gitschberg, Steinermandl and Cima Lasta.
More ski resorts for your winter vacation in the Isarco Valley
Thanks to the great diversity of the surrounding slopes, in the winter there is no space for boredom in the Isarco Valley. Those who already are familiar with the ski regions Plose and Gitschberg/Val Giovo, after only about 20 minutes by car may discover many more kilometres of slopes for wonderful hours in the powder snow. In less than half an hour by car, you may reach the ski areas of Plan de Corones (the number one ski carousel in South Tyrol with around 120 km of slopes), Monte Cavallo in Vipiteno, Racines and Val Gardena. The latter is a popular skiing destination thanks to its connections to the legendary “Sella Ronda”. This circular route is open for skiers and hikers, and leads in two directions around the mighty Sella Massif of the Dolomites. A unique experience with an unrivalled mountain scenery!
Suggestion: If you arrive without your car, you may take advantage of the free ski bus to the ski resorts on Mount Plose, Maranza, Valles and Rasa, as well as to Val Giovo and Gitschberg.
